I still don't like the tip of the blade being almost flush with the end of the knife while closed, but it IS an awesome tool otherwise. And that sucks when spending this kind of cash.ĮDIT: After giving it a couple months getting used to it, I've upgraded my rating to 4 stars. Right now I'm on the fence as to keeping it or sending it back. If it weren't for that issue I'd probably rate this tool at 4.5 to 5 stars, but as it stands, 3 stars is all I can give it. Unfortunately the poor design of the clip location is a potential deal killer. Overall, the knife is quite impressive, with a lot of upside. A half-inch either way would define it one way or the other. This knife falls right between being a pocket-carry or sheath-carry. At least in the sheath I can insert it with the blade pointing down, but I don't always like having a sheath on my belt. The included sheath is decent, nothing remarkable but functional, except the plastic strap clip is difficult to align and close with one hand. Nothing major but still not what I expected from a knife of this quality. It has a thick D2 tool steel blade with flipper and thumb stud openers. In three days of ownership I've had to re-tighten the tension every day to keep it where I wanted it. Proelia TX020 Folder 4in Silver Drop Blade Black-Red G-10Created for tactical use and for the individual who prefers a robust folder, the Proelia flipper from Defcon Blade Works delivers enviable build quality, action, aesthetics, and comfort.Another millimeter or two of recessing the blade/extending the handle would make a HUGE difference.Īnother negative is that the tension adjustment doesn't stay tightened, and loosens up a bit after flipping it open a dozen or so times. That wouldn't happen with the blade pointing downward, like every other knife I've ever owned. I have a nice superficial slice just by placing my thumb along the top of the handle while clipping it in my pocket. BUT, even with the blade completely closed, the sharp tip of the point is practically flush with the end of the handle. The negatives: Who the hell thought that putting the pocket clip at the sharp end of the blade was a good idea? Although unlikely, one does run the risk of reaching for his knife and discovering the hard way that it has opened a bit. No blade wobble, and it's machined very well, as one should expect from a knife in this price range. Easy to flip open, and not too difficult to close with one hand, but I prefer using two when dealing with a knife this sharp. Well-constructed, ultra heavy-duty, razor sharp.
